Hello, my name is Karen Whitfield. I have been practicing Yoga for over 15 years and studying with Paul Harvey since 2011. The Yoga that I both practice and teach was developed by Sri Krishnamacharya, considered the father of modern Yoga, and passed down to me by Paul Harvey based on his many years of study with Krishnamacharya's son TKV Desikachar.
I have completed a four year Practitioner training program including the application of Asana (postures) for individual, therapeutic and group situations; Pranayama (breathing practices); Dhyanam (meditation) and in-depth study of historical texts. Since completing the training programme I have continued to study with Paul both for my professional development and guidance with my own Yoga practice.
I currently live in Exeter with my husband and two young children. I know first hand how impossible it can seem to make time for yourself in this busy world! Taking a few minutes each day to create a space for yourself amidst the chaos and bustle of life is no easy feat but has immense value.
